Soil has life that requires a balance among elements, microorganisms, and nutrient availability to have an active soil environment. Soil testing helps determine the cause of many issues that may be mistaken for insect and or disease issues or may be the cause of many soil born diseases. A soil test will allow you to measure the pH levels of your soil. If pH levels become either acidic or alkaline the turf will not be able function as a healthy plant and must be corrected. Soil testing will also provide a measurement and recommendations regarding micronutrients in the soil as well as N.P.K. levels and C.E.C. cation exchange capacities.
